Golden Era for Malaysian Real Estate Investment
By 2020, skyscrapers, Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Mass Rail Transit (MRT) lines and speedy wireless broadband connectivity could become the norm in major Malaysian cities.
Gavin Tee, Founding President of the Swhengtee International Real Estate Investors Club (Swhengtee International REI Club), said the next 10 years will be the golden era for real estate investment in the country.
Mr. Tee, a renowned property investment consultant, recently predicted that the Malaysian real estate market should have matured by 2020 and reached its peak.
With condominium prices reaching RM2,900 psf and land prices hitting RM7,209 psf in the Golden Triangle, together with several development and infrastructure works happening within and the surrounding areas, luxurious condos are likely to escalate to RM5,000 psf in the next five years.
By 2016, Iskandar Malaysia is likely to have the second highest property values after the Malaysian capital, with the expected Singapore-Kuala Lumpur High-Speed Rail train passing through several major infrastructure works, as well as projects and investments taking place.
Tourism-related properties in the country will also become the most expensive by 2018, as Malaysia increases its attractiveness as a tourist destination, he added.
